Feed and Weed programme
We offer 5 treatments per year, the first being a liquid feed and moss control, treatments 2, 3 and 4 are granular feeds and sprayable weed controls. The 5th treatment is a liquid feed with lawn hardener to prepare the lawn for the winter frost. Each treatment slowly releases its nutrients over 8-10 weeks.
Pre - Spring
This is a liquid feed in February / March to maintain a good supply of nutrients to the lawn for the end of the winter months. It also controls the moss, ready for the high nitrogen feed in spring.
Spring
This is the first of the granular feeds. This fertiliser is quite high in nitrogen to wake the lawn up and help to promote a nice green colour. The first of our herbicide weeds killers are used here to start killing any broadleaf weeds that have appeared. Carried out in April / May.
Summer
This is the second of the granular feeds. Depending on how your lawn has recovered, this will determine what fertiliser we use on your lawn. Maybe your lawn needs to look greener or grow more, then we would use a high nitrogen feed. If root growth is your problem, then a fertiliser high in Potassium would be used.
We then use one of our specialist weed killers to get rid of any broadleaf or even the more stubborn weeds from your lawn. Carried out in June / July.
Autumn
Your 4th treatment will be much like spring and summer where we assess your lawn's needs and treat accordingly. So another granular feed and weed control is applied. Carried out in september / october
Winter
This treatment is carried out from october onwards throughout the winter months. This is a liquid feed and moss treatment. It will kill any moss growing in the lawn so that it is ready for removal. It is important to remove the moss at this time otherwise it will grow back. This treatment again delivers important nutrients to the roots and tip that are essential for this time of year. Carried out November / December.
